Kekuli Bay Provincial Park

Kekuli Bay Provincial Park was used as an artillery range during WWII so visitors are urged to avoid any material that looks like it could be left over from that time and report it to park officials. There is a campground in the park with an excellent boat launch. Activities include swimming, fishing, waterskiing, canoeing and kayaking.

Kalamalka Lake and Provincial Park

The provincial park surrounding Kalamalka Lake is a treasure of trove of outdoor activities that typify the Okanagan's popularity, from watersports to camping, birdwathing to cross-country skiing. Ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir abound in the area, and wildflowers bring a profusion of colour to the otherwise green and brown environment. There are nature trails throughout. Boating, fishing, waterskiing are all permitted in this park, but regulations should be verified beforehand.

Paddlewheel Park

Paddlewheel Park is a popular destination for families, featuring sand beach, playground, basketball court, sand volleyball, tennis court and a boat launch. There is also a grassy area perfect for picnics. Situated on Okanagan Landing Road and Okanagan Lake.

Polson Park

A must-see attraction, Polson Park is Vernon's oldest park and perhaps its most attractive, featuring a rose and Japanese garden. The famous floral clock is here as well as many fun attractions such as a large water play park, tennis courts, running track, band shell and lawn bowling.

Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park

Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park spans over 890 hectares. The lake is known as Marl Lake and has a distinct blue/green tone. The park's natural wetlands and ponds are home to an array of wildlife. Juniper Bay, also located within the park, offers a perfect spot for a relaxing day at the beach. Picnic tables and tap water is offered for convenience. The park features over 10 km of hiking trails.

Mabel Lake Provincial Park

Mabel Lake Provincial Park is worth the 60km (37mi) drive from Vernon with a pristine lake and towering mountains. Off the main road, this park is usually quiet but is complete with many amenities including, but not limited to, camping (with bathrooms and running water), playground, swimming, boat launch, biking and hiking trails. The area teems with wildlife, from birds to deer (and sometimes bears), and offers great rainbow trout fishing.

Ellison Provincial Park

Located on the east side of Okanagan Lake, just a few miles south of Vernon, Ellison Provicial Park is a small park offering big recreational opportunities. bring the camera along to take advantage of all the photo opportunities. Hiking, fishing, biking, canoeing, kayaking and more, are just a few of the recreational opportunities available here. Otter Bay, in Ellison Provincial Park, has a scuba-diving and snorkelling park. 71 campsites are offered with many amenities.

Allan Brooks Nature Centre

The Allen Brooks Nature Centre promotes an awareness of nature and habitat conservation through nature-related activities that are informative and fun. The Discovery Room gives visitors a hands-on opportunity to learn about the Okanagan's biodiversity. The Grassland Trail and the Naturescape Gardens allow visitors to explore outdoors and learn about, and perhaps see, the endangered animals and plants in the Okanagan. Open May through October from 10am to 5pm.
